Torino Hesitant to Sell Bremer Amid Milan and Newcastle Interest

24-year-old Torino center-back Gleison Bremer further sealed his name as one of Serie A’s best defenders during the Granata’s fantastic 4-0 win over Fiorentina. The Brazilian moved from Atletico Mineiro in 2018/19 for a transfer fee of just €5m, but has since grown to be an integral member of Torino’s backline.

He has attracted the attention of several top European clubs, including Milan, Napoli, Newcastle United and Chelsea.

Milan have long scouted the defender but the latest reports from Corriere Granata relay that Newcastle are the most recent team to have made an offer of €30m for the talented stopper. Nonetheless, Torino are hesitant to let their star defender leave.

Instead, the Granata have proposed a contract renewal deal to the Brazilian – an extension until June 2025. Negotiations are ongoing and it is highly unlikely that Bremer will part for greener pastures anytime soon.

Torino are keen to hold onto him at least until next summer, when his value would probably be doubled. The defender however, according to SportMediaset (via MilanNews), is said to have no intention of renewing his contract.

Meanwhile, it is also reported that Bremer has already rejected the renewal offer amid interest from Milan, along with rivals Inter and Tottenham.

His current transfermarkt value of €20m has reached so far having gone through an upward trend, which is only likely to soar higher in the coming seasons.

Bremer has missed just one match for Torino – matchday 2 against Fiorentina – other than which he has appeared uninterruptedly throughout the Serie A season so far.
