Nicolò Zaniolo has again been the subject of speculations following his exclusion from the Derby. His agent Claudio Vigorelli commented on the situation, saying that the attacker is fully focused on Roma.
The representative talked to Tuttomercatoweb during a football conference at the Torre Ulisse Club yesterday: “The Giallorossi have a beautiful project. The best thing was to see him back on the pitch just a few months after the second injury. It was key for him to regain the right mental and physical condition after what happened.”
Vigorelli was coy about the rumors: “We will see what his future will be down the line. We wish to finish the season well and tackle the European competition in the best possible way. There is some chatter all year long nowadays. Zaniolo is a champion and gets routinely liked to top teams. It is pleasing, but he is a Roma player at this stage. He was sorry for not playing in the Derby as he cared a lot about it. However, the most important aspect was for the team to be successful.”
According to Corriere della Sera, the Giallorossi are in a tricky spot. Should Zaniolo end the campaign on a high note, he would have more leverage on the extension talks. However, the Giallorossi do not seem keen on giving him €4-5M per year as he requests, and as Juventus are willing to offer him. On the other hand, they face the risk of selling the attacker below his market value.
