Inter president Steven Zhang offered rare public remarks to motivate the squad ahead of the Serie A restart during the team’s Christmas Party. He talked to Sky.
“I’ve been able to attend for the first time in three years. We’re all excited. I promise the fans that we’ll do anything to turn things around and win. We want to lift many trophies in 2023. That has always been our goal, and we achieved it in previous campaigns.”
“I’m very happy for Lautaro Martinez. He was heavily criticized for two games where he didn’t play poorly, but he reacted and helped Argentina become World champions. He has grown and improved a lot in his five years at Inter. We’re satisfied and proud of him. We are very confident about Romelu Lukaku. Every player can have ups and downs, but he’s working hard every day. We expect great things from him.”
CEO Giuseppe Marotta had the same optimistic tone as Zhang.

Lukaku loves Inter, and we realized it by spending entire days with him. He dealt with an injury, but we believe he has recovered fully. We hope 2023 will bring the trophy we missed out on last year.”
