With Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Marcos Antonio’s future at the Stadio Olimpico looking bleaker by the day, despite Lazio mounting an impressive Serie A campaign that would see them grab a UEFA Champions League spot, Maurizio Sarri’s side are on the lookout for midfield reinforcements.
As per reports from Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), AZ Alkmaar midfielder Jordy Clasie is under the Biancocelesti radar for a future in Rome. The Dutch midfielder has reportedly been followed by Lazio scouts this season, but there is an element that may pose as a barrier for his services.
Jordy Clasie is dit seizoen voor de camera al regelmatig kritisch geweest over zijn eigen ploeg en dat was nu niet anders. https://t.co/VzLIp2rM3S

Clasie is 31 years old, making him a transfer that would not fit within the Biancocelesti’s plan for the future, but however, he does come cheap, at just €3M, according to Transfermarkt. His contract is valid until the summer of 2024.
He starred for Southampton last decade, albeit in a stint that didn’t go well. Clasie also played for Club Brugge and Feyenoord Rotterdam in the past. Lazio took a close look at the veteran since AZ Alkmaar eliminated them over two legs in the UEFA Europa Conference League’s Round of 16 last month.
