Conte Pleased with What He Left Behind at Inter, Lauds Kane

Antonio Conte received a coaching award and looked back at his Inter spell: “They were two intense years, which I lived with enthusiasm and passion. I was asked to bring the Nerazzurri back to winning ways. We all provided our contribution to the cause: players, executives, assistants, and myself. We even reached the Europa League final. They will be a competitive team for years to come.”

Conte talked to Tuttosport upon getting a prize named after Vittorio Pozzo: “It is a great pride and satisfaction. We know very well what he represents for us managers.”

Conte weighed in on Harry Kane: “I have coached several champions during the course of my career, and it is his turn now. He surprised me a lot from every standpoint. He is very available to his teammates despite being one of the best players in the world. It is a great pleasure to have him here and to be able to rely on somebody of his caliber. He has impressive technical skills, and I hope to be able to help him grow.”

Conte elected to leave Inter last summer while the club was going through financial difficulties. He took over Tottenham, where he reunited with former Juventus director Fabio Paratici in November. He has collected three wins and one draw in Premier League so far. The gaffer led the Nerazzurri to their first title in 11 years, winning his fourth Scudetto and his fifth championship overall since he triumphed at Chelsea too.
