Adli Turned Down Multiple Offers to Stay Put at Milan

Yacine Adli turned in another solid performance as Milan beat Lazio on Saturday. As Stefano Pioli stated in previous remarks, the young midfielder passed on the opportunity to leave in the summer to play his cards in an unusual position.

In particular, the Frenchman was targeted by Ajax, Salernitana, Lille, and Eintracht Frankfurt, Nicolò Schira reports (via OneFootball). The Granata are helmed by his former Bordeaux coach Paulo Sousa, who showered him with praise lately. They wanted him on loan, while other sides attempted to sign him permanently.

Adli turned his Milan stay around adapting to the regista role and addressing a big need after Rade Krunic went down with an injury. According to Calciomercato, the Bosnian international is improving but won’t return before the break. He’ll be available against either Juventus on October 22nd or PSG three days later.

Pioli addressed the talent, who was well-received by the Milan crowd, following the last game (via Fanpage).

“When he subbed off, I told him that it was his first San Siro game, and it showed a little. He could have been more proactive. He has improved and has become a starter for us, meaning that he’s one the 20 players that can be fielded in any match.”

Our Take on Adli and Milan

The unexpected turn of events, although not for the staff, could raise the ceiling of their midfield if he becomes a real maestro thanks to his technique. They should seriously consider not going back to Krunic.
