Andrea Agnelli Held Talks with Inter’s Steven Zhang Over Super League

The story with the Super League still seems to be far from over. This is further evident after news broke that Juventus president Andrea Agnelli ha s a meeting with Inter’s patron Steven Zhang yesterday. The topic? Reviving the failed European Super League.

Both Juve and Inter were part of the initial dozen of teams to set up the Super League in April 2021. England’s ‘Big 6’, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan were the other clubs involved.

Plans broke down immediately however, with nine of the 12 dropping out 48 hours later. Only Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus continue to cling on to hope of its revival.

Neither Inter nor Juve are not in the best of shape financially. Both suffered heavy losses over the course of last season. One of the major benefits of the proposed competition would be that clubs would earn more from it.

While the Super League may be dead in the mind of many, this is further proof that the tournament is far from dead.
