Cardinale and Ibra Looking to Raise the Bar at Milan

Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic don’t want to settle for second place and are ready to make changes to bring Milan to a higher level. The duo participated in the “Financial Times Business of Football” summit in London (via La Repubblica).

The owner stated they’d be thorough in analyzing what didn’t work.

“We’ll explore possible changes in every facet of the club. I prefer to call it an evolution. We have a young squad, and we’re doing well. But it’s not enough. We have had too many injuries, so we’ll need to assess our staff too.”

“Zlatan and I aren’t satisfied with not being number one. I entrusted him with being my voice within the team. He has the right authority to do it.”

The icon dished on his new job.

“Gerry made me an offer I couldn’t resist. Many players are friends or former teammates of mine. But I have to focus on the future of the club now and think in a different way. I’ve never been afraid of new challenges.”

Cardinale and Ibrahimovic believe Milan will have their own stadium at some point. The patron weighed in.

“We’ve made progress over the last 18 months. It will have 70k seats and a typically American business model. It’ll help the city, Italy, and the entire Serie A. I’ll found a company that will run our new arena and other infrastructures across the country. I want the Scudetto but also the League to improve as a whole.”
