Inter will head to Istanbul with the aim of winning their fourth UEFA Champions League title against Manchester City, and Federico Dimarco thinks the Nerazzurri are worthy finalists following their escape from the group of death.
Speaking to the press (via Calciomercato) ahead of the UCL final, Dimarco revealed the Nerazzurri dream.
“We are delighted to have reached this milestone, we deserved it on the pitch and we know we are meeting a strong team. Winning this trophy is a dream for us, an obsession for them. We’ll go there and play our cards.”
Dimarco then reflected on Inter’s journey through the group stages, where they were paired with Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Viktoria Plzen.
“When you go through a group like the one with Bayern and Barcelona, it’s not easy. It’s normal that the predictions change, we met strong teams like Porto, Benfica, Milan: we showed that we deserved this final and we’ll play it on an equal footing”.
Manchester City are vying for the treble, having recently won the Premier League and the FA Cup, whereas Inter, despite missing out on the Serie A, will also be aiming for their third title of the season. The Nerazzurri beat Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana, before lifting the Coppa Italia against Fiorentina.
