FIGC Inspect Indecent Politano Gesture Aimed at Milan End

The Italian Football Federation, FIGC’s prosecutor office has opened investigations into Matteo Politano for the Partenopei player’s indecent gestures towards the away end. Since Milan thumped Napoli 4-0 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, the gesture made by former Inter winger has gone viral on social media.

It was during a set-piece situation close to the touchline, when Politano, before taking a free kick, turned towards the Rossoneri fans and pointed towards his groin. He was reportedly provoked by abusive chants sounding: “son of a b*tch”.

As per ANSA (via Calciomercato), the FIGC office has opened proceedings against the Roma-born forward with regard to his gesture.

Milan fans reportedly voiced against the 29-year-old in reaction to his celebration at San Siro in the reverse league fixture – he opened the deadlock in the 55th minute and immediately roused the Curva Sud by celebrating in front of them. The Rossoneri ended losing that game by a 2-1 scoreline

Politano is known to possess an affinity towards Inter, having spent two seasons – between 2018 and 2020 – at the Giuseppe Meazza.

His gesture wasn’t the only one making headlines, as Luciano Spalletti and Paolo Maldini also shared a heated moment in the tunnel before the start of the second half. Napoli ended up suffering just their third defeat, and their second in Serie A, following a remarkable attacking display by Milan.
