Giuntoli Gives Positive Verdict on Juventus Transfer Window

Newly-appointed Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has taken stock of the Bianconeri transfer market ahead of the international break. The Turin giants added Manuel Locatelli, Moise Kean, Timothy Weah, Arkadiusz Milik, and Facundo Gonzalez on permanent transfers, and Giuntoli believes the vision set at the club is something to look forward to.

Giuntoli spoke to Sky Italia (via TuttoNapoli) and revealed his thoughts.

“We are very happy – Juventus have lowered the average age, added young players like Cambiaso and Weah, have held onto Milik. Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic are rounding into shape. We’re recovering Paul Pogba.”

“From a technical point of view, we’ve done important things; we’re trying to find resources in young players and this is thanks to policy that was started a few years ago. We are careful to find a balance between sustainability and team quality. It takes time, but we are confident. We are Juventus.”

He then shed light on Juventus’ season goals.

“We want to return to the Champions League, which is where we want to play, this is our desire. We don’t set limits, but there are teams equipped like us. We’ll fight for it.”

Giuntoli also reminisced legendary Italian and Bianconeri defender Gaetano Scirea on the 34th anniversary of his passing.

“I wanted to remember the passing of Scirea, a great man and a great footballer.”

Juventus issued a positive update on Pogba, who is nursing muscle fatigue and avoided a thigh strain.
