Inter and Napoli Set Conditions to Sign Everton Fullback

Lucas Digne is likely to depart in January, as he clashed with coach Rafa Benitez, leading to his exclusion from the Arsenal game. Inter and Napoli are keeping tabs on the Everton fullback and could make a move in January. The Toffees are in advanced talks to acquire his potential substitute Vitaliy Mykolenko from Dynamo Kyiv, The Sun reports.

However, both Italian sides want to acquire the defender only on loan with option to buy, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. Instead, the Liverpool-based outfit will likely prioritize offers to cash in immediately. Chelsea, which need to replace the injured Ben Chilwell, are serious contenders.

Inter are tracking the Everton fullback as they will probably soon have an opening on the left flank. Aleksandr Kolarov is on his way out, and Federico Dimarco will permanently move to the backline. Moreover, the future of starter Ivan Perisic is very uncertain. He is on an expiring contract and has turned down the extension so far. The Nerazzurri are holding out hope he will change his mind down the line. But they are bracing for his departure and are looking for a high-profile addition in the role rather than taking a flier on somebody like Mohamed Fares.

Digne has a €25M evaluation, which is too high for the Serie A suitors in January. The French international spoke highly of Luciano Spalletti, who coached him at Roma. Napoli have been looking for a new specialist in the position, but they can not splurge either, Alfredo Pedullà relays.
