Inter Begin Searching For a New Option on the Left Flank

Inter will most likely have to replace Ivan Perisic in the summer. The Croatian is on an expiring contract and is rumored to be on his way out. The management is optimistic they will eventually reach an agreement to extend Federico Dimarco’s deal, which expires in 2023. But they will have to bring in somebody else too.

Inter are keeping tabs on multiple candidates. A lot will hinge on what kind of budget they will have. According to Tuttosport, Robin Gosens remains their dream target. However, he is also the most expensive one. The Atalanta ace previously hinted that he would prefer to transfer to Bundesliga should he ever leave.

Filip Kostic represents a more feasible objective, but he would not come cheap either. He was one step away from joining Lazio in the summer. Inter will evaluate Dimarco throughout the season to see whether he is ready to be the full-time starter and will act accordingly on the transfer market.

As far as foreign options are concerned, they are monitoring Borussia Moenchengladbach’s Ramy Bensebaini, Monaco’s Caio Henrique, and Villarreal’s Alfonso Pedraza. The Algerian international would be the most versatile piece, while the Spaniard the most offensive-minded one. All three are on the radar of other Serie A sides looking for a new contributor in the role.

On the other hand, should Dimarco manage to take over, Inter would go after less established names. The alternatives, in this case, are Spezia’s Simone Bastoni, Genoa’s revelation Andrea Cambiaso and Monza’s standout Carlos Augusto.
