Inter Director Scouted Prodigal Lecce Striker Back in September

Lecce directors Pantaleo Corvino and Stefano Trinchera bet on an unknown prodigy from Serbia & Montenegro earlier in the transfer window and their decision has so far been paying dividends. One of the main reasons why the newly-promoted Salentini have been excelling so far is because of center-forward Nikola Krstović, who has already grabbed the attention of Inter.

His four goals from seven league appearances so far have impressed more than most, with top Serie A clubs keeping close tabs on his performances. Fiorentina, Salernitana, Monza, and Sassuolo have been his victims so far, and it was against the Biancorossi, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio was present taking notes, per Calciomercato.

Ausilio apparently returned back home impressed having watched Krstović convert fantastically into the top corner with a penalty, before Andrea Colpani – another Inter target – equalized before half-time. The Nerazzurri, are however not the only club to show interest in Krstović, with derby rivals Milan also in the picture.

The 23-year-old striker joined Lecce from Slovak club Dunkaska Streda during the summer window. Roberto D’Aversa’s side have 12 points from a possible 24 after eight games.
