Inter Ready to Sell Milan Skriniar to PSG

Inter defender Milan Skriniar is keen to continue at Giuseppe Meazza, yet a potential big-money switch to Paris Saint-Germain remains on the cards. As per Tuttosport, the Slovakia international has no intention of forcing his departure.

However, the club’s financial turmoil could take the situation out of Skirniar’s hands. Inter are strapped for cash and will need to raise money from players’ sales to finance Simone Inzaghi’s recruitment campaign.

Like it was the case last summer, several first-team stars could fall victim to Inter’s need to comply with financial fair play. The Nerazzurri are desperate to keep hold of standout forward Lautaro Martinez. But the Argentine’s stay would send others towards the exit door.

Skriniar is one of the most prized assets at Meazza. Inter have pinned a stratospheric €80m price tag on the 27-year-old’s shoulders. Yet, they could sanction his move to Paris for around €70m.

The Slovak’s potential transfer to the Parc des Princes would pave the way for Gleison Bremer’s arrival from Torino. Inter are hell-bent on landing the Brazilian this summer. And they could get the money to finance his move from Skirniar’s sale.

Although the ex-Sampdoria man hopes to stay in Serie A, PSG’s lucrative contract offer could change his mind. Les Parisiens are ready to double his current wages. It would see him earn €9.2m per season, way more than he gets from Inter.

Skriniar has been an omnipresent figure at Meazza since joining from Sampdoria in 2017. He played a prominent role as Inter ended Juventus’ long-term reign of Serie A dominance in 2020/21. The Slovak continued to perform week in, week out last season as the Nerazzuri finished runners-up to Milan.

Unfortunately for him, Inter are eager to keep hold of in-demand Alessandro Bastoni. The Italian’s future in Lombardy depends on Skriniar as the club cannot retain both defenders due to their financial trouble.

So the more experienced centre-back could wave goodbye to Italy in the coming months.
