Paris Saint-Germain are said to be one step away from completing a long-awaited move for Inter centre-back Milan Skriniar. As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, Les Parisiens are on the verge of getting a mega-money deal for the Slovakia international over the line.
PSG and Skriniar agreed on personal terms a fortnight ago. The highly-rated defender green-lighted a five-year contract at the Parc des Princes worth around €7.7m net per year. However, the newly-crowned Ligue 1 champions have yet to get Inter to sanction the transfer.
Last season’s Serie A runners-up have made it abundantly clear they are unwilling to let go of Skriniar unless a mind-blowing offer arrives at the desk. Well, Paris have received the message loud and clear as they upped their initial offer as part of their bid to strengthen their backline.
After seeing their opening €50m offer comfortable knocked back by Inter, Les Parisiens have come up with an improved bid. The parties are now on the cusp of sealing a total agreement for Skriniar worth approximately €65m, including add-ons.
The 27-year-old’s imminent departure should pave the way for Gleison Bremer’s arrival from Torino. Yesterday’s report claimed Inter and Torino scheduled a new meeting for the Brazilian defender to take place next week.
So far, the only thing separating Bremer from joining the Nerazzurri has been a lack of financial muscle. But Skriniar’s transfer to Paris will swamp Inter’s coffers with money, allowing Beppe Marotta to close a deal for one of the best defenders in Serie A.
