Juventus Joined by La Liga Heavyweights in Nahuel Molina Transfer Pursuit

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have reportedly joined Juventus in the race to sign in-demand Udinese full-back Nahuel Molina. According to Calciomercato, the Spanish heavyweights have identified the Argentine defender as an immediate upgrade on their current right-back options.

Molina has flourished since moving to the Dacia Arena in 2019. The 24-year-old racked up seven goals and five assists in 35 Serie A appearances last season, soaking up the limelight as one of the most prolific defenders in Italy’s top flight.

His stunning showings have not gone unnoticed. Juventus have been on Molina’s tail for quite some time now. Despite Juan Cuadrado’s decent form, head coach Massimiliano Allegri is keen to bolster a right-back position after experiencing a first trophyless season in Turin.

Molina ticks all the boxes for a type of player Juventus are looking to recruit. Already an established Serie A star, the Argentine could enjoy further growth in a more prestigious environment.

But though the Bianconeri remain hopeful of landing the ex-Boca Juniors man, foreign competition could prove hard to overcome. Atletico and Barcelona are both desperate to close the gap on reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid.

As a result, they are ready to dash out significant figures to reinforce their squads. Aware of Molina’s high-profile suitors, Udinese have pinned a €30million price tag on the head of their prized asset.

Our take on Molina’s future amid Juventus interest

It is hard to make a case for Udinese to keep hold of Molina beyond the summer. The only question remains – how much could the Friualni earn from the Argentine’s departure?

Staying in Serie A would benefit Molina’s development. He is already familiar with the surroundings, with his career hitting the upwards trajectory in Italy.

That could hand Juventus the upper hand in the potential tug-of-war with Atletico and Barcelona.
