Juventus Ready To Terminate Aaron Ramsey’s Contract

Juventus are ready to give up on Aaron Ramsey as they look to terminate the Wales international’s contract following a lacklustre loan spell at Rangers. According to Tuttosport, the record-time Italian champions have decided cut ties with the 31-year-old at the end of the season.

Ramsey spent the second half of the 2021/22 season on loan at Ibrox Stadium. However, he failed to live up to the billing in Glasgow. The highlight of his underwhelming temporary spell under Giovanni van Bronckhorst was a missed penalty in the Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Since Rangers opted against extending Ramsey’s stay in the Scottish Premiership, a return to Turin is imminent. Unfortunately for the former Arsenal playmaker, Juventus has decided to rip up his contract after the Gers declined to pursue a permanent deal for him.

The Bianconeri tried to sever ties with Ramsey before his temporary switch to Glasgow but without success. However, Juventus are ready to sit at the negotiating table again and discuss a potential pay-off with their out-of-favour star.

Our Take on Juventus Cutting Ties with Ramsey

Juve’s decision to part with Ramsey comes as no big surprise. Since completing his move from Arsenal in the summer of 2019, the Welshman has barely featured for the Turin heavyweights.

Ramsey’s staggering £400,000-a-week salary is another reason Juventus want to see his back as soon as possible. The versatile midfielder has done nothing to repay the club’s faith and live up to his excessive wages.

Meanwhile, head coach Massimiliano Allegri looks to revamp his squad in the summer following a sub-par fourth-place finish in the 2021/22 Serie A season. With Juventus pursuing some big names, including Paul Pogba of Manchester United, Ramsey should make room for the new faces.
