Juventus Reluctant to Give Up on Alvaro Morata

Juventus are reportedly reluctant to give up on their hopes of bringing Alvaro Morata back from Atletico Madrid in the summer. According to Calciomercato, the record-time Italian champions are considering launching another loan bid for the Spanish striker.

Morata spent the last two seasons at Juventus on loan, establishing himself as one of the club’s most consistent performers. He tallied 12 goals and nine assists in 48 appearances for Massimiliano Allegri’s side last term.

Despite forking out around 20m to borrow Morata for two years, Juventus have allowed the 29-year-old to return to the Wanda Metropolitano. The Bianconeri refused to take up a 35m buyout clause, leading to the Spaniard’s reunion with Atletico.

However, Juventus have not discarded the prospect of bringing the former Real Madrid forward back to Turin in the coming months. After Paulo Dybala’s departure on a free transfer, Allegri faces the risk of running out of reliable options up top next season.

Meanwhile, Morata has penned a new deal at Atletico. That guarantees to keep him in Madrid until the summer of 2024. But he is not in Diego Simeone’s plans for next season. Therefore, Los Rojiblancos are ready to ship him out again.

Atletico would rather sell Morata outright. On the other hand, Juventus hope to pull off another loan deal. The Italians would even consider buying the striker permanently, but only on their own terms.

It’s understood that Juventus are hopeful of driving Morata’s price tag down. They would go up to 20m to get the deal over the line.
