Governor of the Lombardy region Attilio Fontana has backed the construction of a new stadium for both Milan and Inter to replace the San Siro. The historic football venue has been planned to be demolished in the near future in order to materialize the project for a new stadium.

Speaking to Sportitalia in an exclusive interview, Fontana revealed his thoughts on the dilemma that has long lingered in the minds of fans and other stakeholders involved.
“Regardless of the choice, two clubs such as Milan and Inter should have a modern stadium available to operate seven days a week – to increase collections and keep standards of other European top clubs.” (via MilanNews)

Milan mayor Beppe Sala wants to fix the legendary San Siro but recently disclosed how both the involved clubs are against the idea and ‘do not want to hear about it’. Both the Rossoneri and Nerazzurri are in favor for the erection of a brand new stadium to replace San Siro.
