Lazio president Claudio Lotito quickly changed his tone after criticizing Maurizio Sarri and the squad in previous days following the win over Celtic Glasgow that granted them the qualification to the next Champions League stage. He spoke to the press from the Chamber of Deputies (via Corriere dello Sport).
“The boss has never been on the hot seat. I had said that beforehand too. We need to work in unison to reach our goals: the technical staff, the execs, the doctors, and the equipment managers. Everybody is key to creating the right chemistry and a serene environment to reach our common goals.”
Lotito praised the performance on Tuesday.
“Besides the result, which is certainly pleasing, we’ve seen a squad that’s alive, compact, determined, and ferocious. That’s what I wanted to happen. The result was the natural consequence of the attitude we had.”
“The loss to Salernitana? It’s important to get up when you fall. We hope the last game was a signal to show the whole club that there are the conditions to do well. We can obtain results if there’s the will, determination, a cohesive spirit, humility, and hunger.”
Lazio were carried by a brace by Ciro Immobile off the bench against Celtic Glasgow. They’ll look to bounce back after three negative results in Serie A as they take on Cagliari on Saturday.”
