Mercurial Former Star Tries to Arrange Roma Reunion

Radja Nainggolan never hid his affinity for Roma even after leaving and reached out to the team to offer his services, as he’s currently out of contract. He’d accept a minimum salary, but the Giallorossi didn’t open to such a solution, Leggo informs.

The Belgian starred for SPAL in Serie B, with Daniele De Rossi in the dugout, from January on. He scored once and provided 2 assists in 10 appearances, missing time twice due to muscular injuries.

Nainggolan proposed to Roma to be paid only based on how much he features. On the other hand, the management believes they have enough men in the midfield already.

The 35-year-old spent a season and a half at Royal Antwerp following his second spell at Cagliari and his permanent departure from Inter. He previously played for La Lupa from 2014 to 2018, racking up 203 appearances and 33 goals. He recently weighed in to ControcalcioTV.

“I can still play, but nobody wants me at the moment.”

Our Take on Roma and Nainggolan

He wasn’t half bad during his time at SPAL and was clearly overqualified to play in the second division. The Giallorossi don’t have depth problems following the additions of Leandro Paredes, Renato Sanches, and Houssem Aoaur, but rather injury-related ones. He wasn’t exactly the picture of good health even in his prime. If he didn’t hate Juventus, there could have been something there.
