Milan Making Progress in their Pursuit of French Defensive Prospect

Milan are close to matching Strasbourg’s asking price for touted defender Mohamed Simakan, as they have offered €14/15M and add-ons according to transfer market experts Carlo Laudisa and Gianluca Di Marzio. The reports diverge a little as the one coming from Gazzetta dello Sport says that gap between the bid and the request is minimal at this point and that there is great optimism within the club that the deal will get done in short order, while the Sky Italy’s journalist says that the French outfit want €20M plus bonuses, so there is still some negotiating left to do.

The 20-year-old center-back has already agreed to personal terms on a five-year contract with the Rossoneri and his desire to move to the Serie A side is making a difference as also some Premier League clubs have inquired about him and RB Leipzig are eyeing him as a possible replacement for Dalot Upamecano, who will likely be lured away by a top team in the summer. Simakan has racked up 42 appearances over the last two years.

The defender might not be only addition coming from France as Milan are also targeting Toulouse 19-year-old midfielder Kouadio Kone, whom their scouts consider ready to contribute right away despite his young age and the fact that he is currently playing in Ligue 2. He featured 13 times in the top division last year.
