Milan Outcast Set to Join Sampdoria on Loan

Andrea Conti is on the verge of leaving Milan for another short-term loan, with Sampdoria reportedly waiting in the wings. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Roberto D’Aversa’s side have reached an agreement with the Rossoneri over the right-back’s temporary switch to the Luigi Ferraris.

Conti spent the second half of last season on loan at Parma, where he enjoyed regular first-team football. However, the Crusaders failed to sign the Italian defender permanently after suffering relegation from Serie A. The 27-year-old returned to the San Siro in the summer but has only registered 12 minutes of top-flight action this season.

Since he is not part of Stefano Pioli’s plans, Milan are looking to ship their outcast out on another loan. Conti’s current deal will expire at the end of the season, with the Rossoneri reluctant to offer the injury-prone defender a new contract.

Sampdoria, who have recently improved in Serie A following an abysmal start to the season, are keen to add Conti to their ranks. Per Di Marzio, La Samp and Milan have agreed on a six-month loan deal that would see the right-back spend the remainder of the season at the Luigi Ferraris.

It is now up to Sampdoria to come to terms with Conti’s representatives, who would like to see if there is a possibility for an extended stay in Genoa for their client. He will become a free agent at the end of the season and could join the Blucerchiati without a compensation fee at the end of the season.
