Mom of Cristiano Ronaldo Wants Him to Return at Sporting CP

Dolores Aveiro, the mother of Cristiano Ronaldo, would like his son to go back to Sporting this summer. She made her plea in an interview with TVI 24 during the title celebration of the Leões: “I am happy for their victory, I will talk to him now. He will play at the Alvalade next year, I will convince him to return.”

About ten days ago, the newspaper Record reported that the star striker plans to finish his career with his first team. The article said he would join either in 2022, at the end of his current contract, or in 2026, after a new three-year experience elsewhere.

His mom will try to speed up the timeline. The idea is not so far-fetched as, despite the links to PSG and Manchester United, no top club has made a serious approach to sign Ronaldo yet. He would have to significantly lower his €31M wages, but Sporting might be the only side he would take a pay cut for, La Stampa reports.

In the meantime, Ronaldo broke another record on the pitch, as he became the fastest player the score 100 goals with Juventus. He is the first to accomplish such milestone with three different outfits. He celebrated the achievement on Instagram: “It is always a special feeling, and I am happy to share it with Paulo Dybala. But we must keep our focus and go for the remaining points in Serie A. there is still so much at stake, and we will keep fighting for all our remaining goals. Fino alla fine!”
