Franck Ribery, who remained part of Salernitana’s coaching staff after they axed Davide Nicola, commented on his former Fiorentina teammates Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa, who are having complicated campaigns for different reasons. The ex-winger spoke with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“They are my little brothers. They have to handle increased pressure at Juventus, where they are asked to win and score all the time. Their potential is very high. They have quality and courage and aren’t afraid of anything. They work very hard in practice, as I advised them to do when we were together.”
The World Champion steered away from the comparison between Erling Haaland and the Serb.
“Dusan has different characteristics, but he’s a top player as well and has great personality.”
Ribery got in touch with Paul Pogba before his latest injury.
“I’ve talked to him before he returned in the derby. He just needs to recover some continuity. However, he’s an unquestionable champion and still has a lot more to give to football.”
The Frenchman heaped praise on Angel Di Maria and Adrien Rabiot as well.
“He’s more similar to Arjen Robben than to me, since they are both left-footed. He’s a world-class player and an artist. He manages to do with his feet what others do with their hands. I’m not surprised with his impact at Juventus.”
