Juventus icon David Trezeguet has not ruled out a return to his former club in a managerial capacity, stressing the example of a German giant where ex-players have gone on to hold executive positions. He also believes Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is the perfect prototype of a pure center-forward.
In an exclusive interview with DAZN (via Calciomercato), the former France international shared his thoughts on a couple of interesting topics, including Osimhen’s rise to the top.
“I follow him elsewhere, because everyone wants him: he is talked about a lot both in Germany and in France. He is showing a lot, he had already done it in a lesser-known team like Lille where he did very well. He is the prototype of the modern center-forward, he has managed to become a forward with that profile, he knows how to move in and out of the area.”
Trezeguet revealed his bond with Juventus and what the future holds for the club after the 15-point deduction.
“I have a particular bond with Juve, I know what they gave me. However, I’m not following the Italian championship very much, and this -15 won’t be easy to manage but the group of Allegri is proving to be up to it: yesterday they played a great match against Fiorentina. I think it’s something that doesn’t concern the players, but the club.”
Finally, the Frenchman spoke about a possible return to the Bianconeri.
“Me and Del Piero? I think the example should be Bayern Munich, which trains and prepares its former great players and makes them become managers.” (via Calciomercato)
Trezeguet spent a full decade in Turin with Juventus, scoring 171 goals in 320 appearances for the Bianconeri. He won two Serie A titles, one Serie B and one Supercoppa Italiana.
