Two Turkish Giants Interested in Lazio Loanee at Real Mallorca

Vedat Muriqi has got up and running in his Real Mallorca loan spell after failing to find his feet at Lazio throughout this campaign. Having made his Biancocelesti debut in 2020, the Kosovo international  failed to return the €20m investment on his name made by Lazio to Fenerbahce. He was loaned out in the 2022 January transfer window to Spain and Mallorca have the option to buy him permanently in the summer.

However, he is reportedly not short of suitors. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have both expressed interest in signing the 27-year-old striker from Lazio.

Destined to return to Lazio in the summer, one cannot expect Maurizio Sarri to hand the starting forward position to Muriqi, due to which a transfer seems like the only productive choice to make going forward. Additionally, his €6m transfermarkt value is bound to bring in some financial relief to the coffers of the capital club after a financially dilapidated pandemic-hit couple of years.

Muriqi experienced a rather torrid first season at Lazio, scoring just 2 goals in 34 appearances, before going out on a duck this campaign after 15 appearances.

He has now scored more in 11 appearances at Real Mallorca than in his two seasons in the sky blue colors of Lazio.
