Inter Ready to Pounce on Fiorentina Stopper Post Bremer Saga

Having lost out on Brazilian center-back Gleison Bremer to Juventus, Inter have switched their focus on to Nikola Milenkovic. The Nerazzurri have experienced frustration in the transfer market this summer despite adding a few top-notch talents to the squad, not to mention falling out on the Paulo Dybala saga.

Their defense needs replenishment and they are out looking for cheaper center-back options, notwithstanding the fact that Milan Skriniar might stay put after talks with PSG cooled down over the past days. Their shortcomings have forced them to look toward Tuscany. As per Sky (via FCInter1908), the Fiorentina center-back is the club’s number one target at the moment.

The management is yet to receive the green light from Suning to invest €15-20M for the Serbian defender, but they have already held talks with agent Fali Ramadani over the past couple of days. The Serbian center-back has been on their quite some time now, but the former Scudetto champions will have to work their way up fast by settling terms with both the player and the Viola to jot down a deal. His contract in Florence expires in June 2023.

A five-year deal worth €2.5M net per season is touted to be offered by Inter to Milenkovic. Two other alternatives in their books are Atalanta’s Merih Demiral and Borussia Dortmund’s Manuel Akanji, who both fit the profile scouted by Simone Inzaghi.
