Agent of Barcelona Ace Rules Out Departure, Jibes Milan

Agent George Atangana was quick to dismiss the reports linking his top client Franck Kessié to a move back to Serie A, to Inter or Milan, in an interview with Calciomercato.

“He’s never been happier as he’s now in Barcelona. He reached a goal that remains just a dream for many players. He moved there after proving his value in Serie A for seven years, earning everybody’s approval. The transfer to Catalunya was a logical consequence. We have always been loyal to our plans.”

“His current situation didn’t catch us by surprise. Clearly, we expect him to get integrated into the mechanisms more and more, but there’s a different philosophy in Spain. He’s adapting to a new style of football. It’s just a matter of time, and the only thing that matters is the consideration Barcelona have for him. They are all happy with the player and the professional.”

Atangana addressed the whispers around Kessié.

“The recent pieces of news are unrealistic. He’s not the type of player that needs to be proposed to Italian teams or anybody. I want to clarify once and for all that we aren’t plotting to leave Barcelona, so a return to Serie A isn’t conceivable.”

“He feels fulfilled with what he achieved at Milan. Our relationship with their fans remains intact. We know how things went down. Hakan Calhanoglu, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Alessio Romagnoli all left in the same manner. They are struggling with their current renewals too. I don’t understand why only his farewell is so troubled. We refused offers up until January because we wanted to reach agreement. The weird thing is that limits that were in place for him might be surpassed now.”
