Allegri Tipped to Stay at Juventus Despite PSG Chatter

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri and PSG director Luis Campos were pictured together outside a hotel in Monte Carlo. While the photo led to wild speculations, as the French champions are looking for a new coach, the Tuscan gaffer will keep helming Juventus.

As per Corriere della Sera, the meeting was almost incidental. The Italian manager is spending a few days outside of Italy on vacation. The executive lives and operates in the Principality. The two are long-time acquaintances. The executive tried to convince the coach to join Real Madrid when he was a consultant for them last year.

Allegri has politely rejected the courtship of PSG, the publication adds. He has three more years on his contract with the Old Lady. Mauricio Pochettino is about to get the axe, and Christophe Galtier is the frontrunner to replace him. Still, the Parisians hold out some hope to hire Zinedine Zidane. However, he seems keener on replacing Didier Deschamps on the bench of the French national team after the World Cup.

While the manager is not looking for a way out, he is disappointed with the Bianconeri’s lack of activity on the transfer market, the outlet reports. Paul Pogba is one step away from joining, but the management is having trouble with the other deals. The gaffer is a strong proponent of signing Angel Di Maria and keeping Alvaro Morata.

Our Take on Allegri and PSG

The Tuscan coach would actually be a pretty good choice for the French outfit considering his ability to manage stars and navigate challenging locker rooms. Instead, Juventus could use more of a tactician and somebody more proficient in grooming youngsters in their current transitional phase. But realistically it is too late for the switch to happen.
