Arsenal Rekindle Interest in Juventus Midfielder Arthur

Arsenal have resumed eyeing Arthur after their January attempt did not go through. Juventus’ top director Federico Cherubini is currently spending time in London to set up a few deals. He will likely meet with the Gunners too.

Federico Pastorello, the agent of the Brazilian midfielder recently stated that they have no interest in him continuing to be a fringe player with the Bianconeri. He has logged 31 appearances this season, making just 13 starts between Serie A and Champions League, also because of numerous physical problems.

Arthur had agreed to join Arsenal in the previous window. However, they could not sanction a deal with the Bianconeri. The English side had proposed just a six-loan loan spell, offering no guarantees on a buyout. The Gunners could be more willing to invest in him this time out, Tuttomercatoweb informs. The former Barcelona man would be able to maintain his €5M wages with a move to Premier League, on top of having a larger role.

The 25-year-old originally joined the Old Lady in an €80M-rated swap deal with Miralem Pjanic. His evaluation has plummeted, and €20-30M could be enough to snatch him. Moreover, Juventus and Arsenal might cook up a trade involving Arthur.

The Bianconeri have expressed interest in Gabriel as a potential replacement for Giorgio Chiellini, although his price tag is way higher. Thomas Partey has also been linked to the Turin outfit lately. Coach Massimiliano Allegri would not mind adding a muscular player to the midfield, the publication informs.
