Juventus are set to step up their efforts to sign Jorginho. The Bianconeri wish to overhaul their midfield in the summer. They are mulling over the opportunity of onboarding both the Azzurri maestro and Paul Pogba. Their director Federico Cherubini is in London to touch base with multiple clubs, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
For obvious reasons, it has been challenging for the Old Lady to negotiate with Chelsea thus far. The sale of the team is nearing its completion, though. The 30-year-old has just one year left on his contract, so, also considering his age, the fee should not be too sizeable.
Juventus have been in touch with Jorginho for a few months. They are confident he would join them if he left the Blues this summer. He transferred to the Pensioners in a €57M move from Napoli in 2018. He has accumulated 187 appearances since then, tallying 26 goals and 8 assists and contributing to last year’s Champions League win.
The Bianconeri will also explore some sales while in England. Weston McKennie has a few suitors, starting with Tottenham. The Spurs, which are helmed by their former exec Fabio Paratici, already tried to acquire him in January. Multiple American-owned teams would not mind purchasing him. Juventus would most likely part ways with a pair of midfielders if they secured the signings of both Jorginho and Paul Pogba. Arthur and the 23-year-old are the likeliest candidates. The Old Lady has set a €40M price tag for the former Schalke 04 youngster.
