Danilo Wants Juve to Return on Top, Talks Real Madrid Clash

Brazilian defender Danilo is excited for the new season to start and expects Juventus to put on a show when they clash against reigning European champions Real Madrid in their pre-season friendly at the famous Rose Bowl Arena in California.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the stopper took stock of the upcoming friendly.

“It will be a good match against Real, exciting for me too, since I spent two years in Madrid. We are working well these days, experimenting with new game situations. For example, we are working on what must be, in a positive sense, our “arrogance”, in always being proactive and in wanting to lead the game.”

Danilo also thanked the Bianconeri faithful for their support after a tough domestic season.

“We have done a good job in these days; here in America it has been wonderful, we have to thank the fans for the wonderful welcome.”

Finally, the defender threw light on what he expects from the upcoming 2022/23 season.

“Returning to victory. And this can only be achieved by working on the pitch, on the physical, athletic, technical but also mental part, keeping your feet firmly planted on the ground and facing all matches with the same mentality.”

Juventus open their Serie A account at the Allianz Stadium when they welcome Sassuolo on August 14th, but first the exciting match against Real Madrid awaits on Sunday. Danilo spent two seasons with Los Blancos between 2015 and 2017, collecting 56 appearances.
