Ex-Spezia Striker Rey Manaj on Frosinone Transfer Radar

Frosinone are preparing to return to Serie A with a smack, most recently adding Sassuolo duo Abdou Harroui and Riccardo Marchizza as part of their 23-man squad. However, despite already having added two center-forwards this window – Gennaro Borelli and Marvin Cuni – the Lazio-based minnows are reportedly interested in signing former Spezia striker Rey Manaj.

As per Sky Italia reporter Luca Cilli, the Canarini are pondering a move for Manaj. The Piacenza and Cremonese youth product spent last season at Watford. Manaj recently terminated his three-year deal at the club based on mutual consent.

Guido Angelozzi, Frosinone chairman, himself confirmed the interest of the club in Manaj. Reportedly, even Sampdoria have eyed Manaj as a potential replacement for Dubai-bound Manolo Gabbiadini.

Manaj has previous Italian top-flight experiences with Inter, Pescara, and Spezia. He also spent one season on loan at Pisa in 2016/17 in Serie B. He was restricted to just six EFL Championship appearances in the Watford jersey last season due to physical problems.
