Fiorentina Ready to Move Past Vlahovic Ordeal, Says Pradè

Fiorentina director Daniele Pradè dished on the Dusan Vlahovic saga during Arthur Cabral’s unveiling: “I fully understand the bitterness and distress by the fans. Unfortunately, there are situations that we can not control. Clubs are almost prisoners of agents and players nowadays. We could not turn down the offer; otherwise, we would have risked losing him for nothing. The outcome was inevitable. Such deal is the epitome of modern football, and we are hoping something changes soon.”

Pradè underlined what Fiorentina got done despite partying ways with their ace in the recent window: “We remain a complete squad thanks to the arrivals of Jonathan Ikoné, Krzysztof Piatek, and Arthur Cabral. President Rocco Commisso is disappointed, but we will do our best to restore his usual enthusiasm. Our group is very strong and is not dependent on just one player. We will try to win back the supporters too.”

Pradè confirmed the talks for Augustin Alvarez, but Fiorentina could acquire him in January already: “We like him a lot, but Penarol asked for a sum we consider excessive at this stage. We pursued Julian Alvarez too, but we did not make an aggressive move at the time because we had already signed Piatek, and Vlahovic was still here. Manchester City had already won the race once he departed. We are happy for signing Cabral, who is a strong young striker and could be called up by Brazil soon. We were capable and lucky to seize an opportunity in a delicate moment.”
