Fiorentina will soon announce the acquisition of Gino Infantino, who will be their third signing of the summer. The youngster touched down in Italy Monday night and had brief remarks to Tuttomercatoweb.
“I’m happy to be here. I’ll do everything for this jersey. It’s a dream come true. Gabriel Omar Batistuta was an idol in this city.”
The 20-year-old will transfer from Rosario Central on a permanent deal. Fiorentina will pay a €4M fee to purchase Infantino.
Gonzalo Belloso, the president of the Argentinian outfit, weighed in on the starlet.
“The kid is very beloved inside the club. We were looking for an opportunity for him to grow, and we accepted the offer. The negotiation lasted 20 days. We needed to sell. It was better for us to part ways with a talent that’s not a full-time starter yet.”
“I’m happy for him. He always behaved currently and never put pressure on us to depart. You need patience with prospects. He has proven capable both with us and with U-20 Argentina. He has a bright future ahead of him. We hope he blossoms. We fully expect it since we have a resale clause.”
Infantino will join Fiorentina after starring 74 times with his previous club, scoring 6 times and providing 2 assists. He has ten international caps at the youth level to his name.
