Inter Director Doesn’t Anticipate Any January Purchase

Giuseppe Marotta stated that Inter wouldn’t be active in January and dished on the future of the club amid rumors about a potential sale and an upcoming deadline for a massive loan (via La Repubblica).

“Our fans can be serene. The Zhang family cares deeply about the club, respecting its history and fans. They have made large investments over the years. It wouldn’t be fair for them to pour money routinely. You can also be sustainable through courageous and creative management. They won’t leave Inter in dire straits. We’re tranquil about our future prospects. The guarantee of continuity is absolute.”

Marotta said they wouldn’t do anything in January.

“We had very few injuries and won’t use the transfer market for two reasons: it’s hard to find bargains, and we have put one of the strongest and more competitive squads in the league at Simone Inzaghi’s disposal.”

The CEO put pressure on Juventus ahead of the clash between the two sides.

“They are the favorites for the Scudetto since they don’t play in the cups. Massimiliano Allegri is a great coach and a good communicator. It’s still early, and I don’t think the result will be decisive.”

Marotta reiterated his optimism about Lautaro Martinez inking a new contract with Inter.

“He expressed his desire to stay here long-term a few times. I think it’s very easy to come to terms when the intentions are mutual. We count on him for the present and the future.”
