Marotta Announces His Future, Addresses January Window

Giuseppe Marotta kept things close to the vest about the transfer market and stated that he won’t join another team after his run with Inter ends. He talked to the press during the presentation of the book of journalist Fabrizio Biasin. (via TuttoSport).

“We’re shooting for the Scudetto. Clearly, the second star is important and would be something historical. It’s true that many players would be happy to come here after reaching the Champions League final. There was a moment when this team had fallen into oblivion. Instead, there’s a lot of attention toward us that goes beyond our history now. I don’t know whether we’ll sign somebody in January. It hinges on how we fare. It’s premature to talk about it now. As Piero Ausilio said, we keep scouting and monitoring. We always have a shortlist.”

Marotta has clear plans for his future.

“Inter will be the final side in my career for sure. Politics? Maybe as a technical figure in sports but surely without joining any party.”

Marotta would like to establish the second team, but there are some issues.

“I think it’s an indispensable instrument to accompany the growth of the youngsters. The step from the Primavera to the first team is very difficult. There needs to be an intermediate one, and the U-23 outfit would be that. However, we don’t have adequate structures. We wouldn’t know where to make them train. We have to solve this, not just Inter but in general.”
