Juventus Eager to Part Ways with Two Midfield Outcasts

Aaron Ramsey is back in Turin after a so-so loan spell at Glasgow Rangers, and Juventus will try again to terminate his sizeable contract to then tweak their midfield. He was not called up for the United States trip. He is clearly not in their plans for next season, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The management is pursuing an early termination of his contract. He is owed €7M net in the final year. The director proposed €2M, and his camp countered with a €4M request. The parties might meet in the middle relatively soon.

Juventus have better chances of getting rid of Ramsey this time. The installments to pay the commissions to his agents have ended. Plus, he wants to find a team where he could feature regularly to prepare for the World Cup with Wales.

The Bianconeri wish to add a pure deep-lying playmaker to lift up their whole midfield. They have zeroed in on Leandro Paredes for the role. However, they need further exits before making an addition. Arthur is on the chopping block and is not taking part in the American trip either. He would like to go back to Barcelona, while Arsenal proposed a loan with option to buy. The Old Lady unsuccessfully tried to ship him to Roma in the package for Nicolò Zaniolo.

Our Take on the Juventus midfield

It would be a masterstroke if Juventus managed to offload Ramsey, Arthur and Adrien Rabiot to make room for a pure regista. Lucas Torreira would be a better option than Paredes. Then, they could move Manuel Locatelli to box-to-box and open up minutes for their talented youngsters Fabio Miretti, Nicolò Fagioli and Nicolò Rovella. The chances of the whole web of moves coming to fruition are extremely low, though.
