Bonucci’s first-team prospects at Juventus are dead in the water. Massimiliano Allegri has deemed one of the club’s most loyal servants surplus to requirements and wants him out sooner rather than later. However, the 36-year-old doesn’t share Allegri’s standpoint.

He could follow the same path as his former defensive partner Giorgio Chiellini, who spent one point of his career at Fiorentina. Unlike Chiellini, who plied his trade at Artemio Franchi as a youngster, Bonucci could don the iconic purple shirt down the final stretch of his trophy-laden career.
It’s up to Fiorentina to convince the center-back. Juventus won’t stand in their way. But they could use negotiations as a pretense to discuss Sofyan Amrabat’s potential switch to Turin. The Moroccan is a person of interest at the Allianz Stadium, though there’s nothing concrete yet.
