Juventus to Rival Inter to Sign Barcelona Misfit Kessié

Franck Kessié is once again linked to an exit, as has happened in every window since he joined Barcelona, with Juventus and Inter reportedly hot on his trail ahead of the summer. The midfielder has failed to secure a regular starting role in Catalunya after a Bosman move from Milan.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport (via OneFootball), the Bianconeri and La Beneamata are keen on bringing the Ivorian powerhouse back to Serie A. The Nerazzurri discussed him in a recent meeting with the Blaugrana directors. They have been after the midfielder for a few years.

Juventus and Inter plot to try to convince Barcelona to part ways with Kessié through trades. However, the potential newcomers would have to receive the seal of approval of coach Xavi. Marcelo Brozovic has been repeatedly rumored to be part of the talks between the two teams. Although, it’s not so certain the Spanish gaffer would ultimately sign off on the departure of the 26-year-old.

According to the publication, the ex-Rossoneri star and Andreas Christensen were asked to reduce their salaries to help the team repair their finances. They refused to do so, which might make them expendable come next summer.

Our Take on Kessié, Juventus, and Inter

These rumors resurface every six months, and then the player or his agent quickly dismisses them. The fact that he joined on a free would allow the Blaugrana to profit from his departure no matter how he transfers. Some swaps would make sense for both suitors. He’d be perfect for the Old Lady, which lacks a physically-imposing midfielder, and he would obviously fit well in Milan too, but his wages could be an issue for them.
