Matic Dishes on Mourinho, Serie A and Premier League Experience

Nemanja Matic has revived his career at the Stadio Olimpico ever since moving from Manchester United at the start of the season, reuniting with Jose Mourinho for a third time in his career. Matic believes it might not be easy to play under the Special One, but it is well worth the experience.

In an exclusive interview with Sky Sport UK (via VoceGiallorossa), the Roma midfielder shed light on a variety of topics, including his reunion with Mourinho, the Serie A challenge, and his time in the Premier League, among many other topics.

“Mourinho’s a fantastic coach who has won so many trophies. He wants to win again, I’m proud to play for him. Sometimes it’s not easy, he’s never happy and he wants you to improve every day, but I like this. He has more experience but Mourinho never changes. It depends on what he finds and the players he has in his squad, but he knows his job very well.

Roma are in for a second consecutive European trophy under Mourinho.

“I enjoy it a lot here. I like the club, I’m very happy. We play good football. We’re fighting for the Champions League in the league and we’re also in the semi-finals of the Europa League, so I’m looking forward to the end of the season and we’ll see what happens”.

Having played for both Manchester United and Chelsea, Matic spoke of his fulfilled dream of starring the in the English top-flight.

“I am very proud to have represented two of the biggest clubs in England; lived the dream playing in the Premier League for Chelsea and Manchester United, it was a great achievement, and I will always remember those clubs in a positive way. They hold a special place in my heart”.

Matic has 1 goal and 3 assists in 43 appearances for the Giallorossi this season.
