Milan Reportedly Scout Promising Basel Center-Back

Milan is determined to sign a new defender in January, and their head scout has taken a close look at Finn Van Breemen lately. Coach Stefano Pioli stated that the position was their top priority considering Pierre Kalulu’s massive injury. Marco Pellegrino, who has logged just one appearance, is also on the mend. Simon Kjaer has been in and out of the squad list with nagging physical problems too.

According to Sky, exec Geoffrey Moncada watched the Basel prodigy from up close over the weekend. He has appeared 13 times this season, scoring twice. He moved to Switzerland from ADO Den Hag for €1M last summer and has two caps with the Netherlands U-21 squad.

Milan have been attached to a few names on top of Van Breemen. The most concrete one is Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly. Their top scout recently attended one of his matches too and was left with a good impression.

The contract of the Englishman expires at the end of the season. The Rossoneri and Juventus have been keeping tabs on him ahead of a possible Bosman addition. However, the former have an immediate need due to their injury crisis. They’d have to convince the Cherries to sell a starter midway through the season, though.

Our Take on Milan and Van Breemen

They have to tread the needle between valuation and potential, but it shouldn’t be too hard to find a suitable target.
