A long-running transfer saga about Milan Skriniar’s move from Inter to Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly taken another twist. Per French newspaper L’Equipe, via Calciomercato, talks between the sides have reached an impasse.
Skriniar has already agreed on personal terms with Paris. He should earn around €7.7m net per season at the reigning Ligue 1 champions. But first, PSG will have to convince Inter to allow their household first-team star to leave Giuseppe Meazza.
Inter are holding out for a mammoth €80m asking price. On the other hand, Les Parisiens are reluctant to go beyond €65m to get a deal over the line. There is still a sizeable distance between the Italians’ demand and Paris’ offer.
However, there is a feeling that Skriniar will link up with Cristophe Galtier’s side by the end of the summer. Inter have no interest in keeping hold of their wantaway defender. So the Slovak will leave Giuseppe Meazza in the coming weeks, one way or another.
For now, PSG are focused on getting some fringe defenders off their books. Abdou Diallo is the first name on the chopping block, with Milan and Napoli displaying their interest in the ex-Borussia Dortmund man. Another exit-bound player is Presnel Kimpembe.
Chelsea and Juventus are said to be in the race to sign the 26-year-old. But after taking Kalidou Koulibaly away from Napoli, the London side’s interest could subside. That may clear that path for Kimpembe’s switch to Turin.
Galtier has recently laughed off talks linking the Frenchman with a summer exit. But Skiriniar’s arrival will likely force PSG to renounce Kimpembe, with Juventus ready to pounce. Meanwhile, Inter are reluctant to give up their bid to sign Torino’s Gleison Bremer.
The Brazilian is one of the hottest Serie A properties and Inter want him to replace Skriniar at Meazza next season. But they cannot make a move before offloading the Slovakia international due to their financial issues.
