Napoli Shortlist Two Midfielders Playing in Turkey

Napoli are eyeing Turkey to locate a midfielder, as they are tracking Sebastian Szymanski and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. The Partenopei want to add a new piece since Frank Anguissa will partake in AFCON and Diego Demme might leave in January.

Per local publication Sporx (via Mediaset), the Scudetto holders have scouted the pair as of late. The Pole, who can play in multiple roles, has shined since arriving from Dinamo Moscow, recording 9 goals and 7 assists in 19 appearances across all competitions. He has 28 caps with his national team. The Azzurri signed Kim Min-Jae from Fenerbahce two summers ago by activating his release clause.

Dele-Bashiru would be a more defensive-minded option than Szymanski and perhaps a better fit for what Napoli are looking for. He too has been productive this campaign, scoring four times and setting up three teammates. He joined Hatayspor on a free move from Sheffield Wednesday in July.

The 22-year-old is a product of the Manchester City academy but didn’t reach the first team. He played primarily in League One during his time in England. He has made just one appearance with Nigeria and shouldn’t be involved in the upcoming international competition.

Our Take on Napoli, Szymanski, and Dele-Bashiru

The Partenopei finding excellent deals in unusual places would be nothing new. Considering what occurred with their latest pricey acquisition, Jesper Lindstrom, they might go back to that well.
