Napoli Stance Confirmed for Argentine Attacking Talent

Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is at it again, after having brought in Kim Min-jae and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the previous window. Another talent in the form of Thiago Almada is in the books to arrive in Naples when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

According to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli (via TuttoNapoli) director Valter De Maggio, Napoli are about to close a market coup, he said, most likely referring to the acquisition of Almada from Major League Soccer outfit Atlanta United.

Moreover, FIFA agent Andrea D’Amico recently commented to the microphones of Kiss Kiss Napoli on the player’s potential departure to Napoli in the coming months.

“Yes, I received confirmations in this regard: he is a footballer who, as far as I know, Cristiano Giuntoli likes a lot. He is the typical attacking midfielder, a playmaker to be clear. He plays in MLS, in Atlanta. He seems to be very close to Napoli but Cristiano Giuntoli certainly knows more than me, also because I’m not the intermediary in this deal.”

The 21-year-old was a member of the Argentina team that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and made history by being the first MLS player to win the world title.

He was brought in from Argentine Primera Division outfit Velez Sarsfield last year.
