Former Empoli wingback Fabiano Parisi has vowed to give his all in the Viola shirt following his high-profile €10M transfer across Tuscany. The 22-year-old signed a five-year contract at Fiorentina, leaving the likes of Juventus and Milan empty-handed.
Parisi gave an extensive interview to the official channels (via Tuttomercatoweb) of the Viola and spoke about what to expect going forward.
“I am very happy to be here. I can’t wait to get started. I come from a football school in Irpinia, at 16 I went to Rome to play at elite level and the following year Benevento bought me, with whom I played for Primavera. There were difficult moments, but then I played in Serie D with Avellino, winning the championship. I grew a lot there. Then Empoli bought me. I had difficulty in the beginning and now I’m very happy to be part of the family.”
Parisi then revealed his debut national team goal vs Switzerland U21 at the 2023 U21 European Championship as his standout moment.
“My best memory was the goal for the U21s at the European Championship, my first. It was an incredible emotion, I started from the bottom and getting to that level was very difficult.”
The 22-year-old assured the Fiorentina faithful of his dedication.
“I assure you that when I go on the pitch I’ll sweat my shirt, I’m someone who gives everything and this will certainly help me in bonding with the fans. You have to give your best and I’ll do it. I’m in love with Florence.”
Parisi is expected to make his Fiorentina debut in a preseason friendly against Parma on July 20.
