Paul Pogba attended the Golden Boy ceremony as a guest on Monday night along with his agent Rafaela Pimenta, who received an award. The midfielder disclosed a backstory about Sir Alex Ferguson (via TuttoSport).
“He wanted to put me under contract for Manchester United when I was 18. He arrived a little late to the meeting, where we were waiting for him, and immediately asked me if I had signed already. Mino Raiola told him that not even a dog would have inked that deal. We stormed off, leaving him stunned. I used to tease my representative about his weight, while he retorted by mocking my hair.”
Pogba updated on his injured knee and praised Pimenta.
“I’m better, let’s say that. She’s like a second mother to me, and she helped me a lot during my career and made me become a man who takes on responsibilities. She made me understand many things about football and life. We are like family.”
The agent spoke about two of his clients, Stefan De Vrij and Moise Kean (via Tuttomercatoweb).
“It would be inelegant towards their clubs to talk about potential transfers since we aren’t even at the midway point of the season. There’s a lot of work to be done, and we will see in the next few months.”
