Roma Express Interest in Signing Barcelona Young Winger

Roma will make another attempt to acquire Ez Abde in the summer, and the player appears to be more willing to leave Barcelona. The Giallorossi already tried in January. However, coach Xavi talked the youngster into staying put.

According to El Nacional (via Corriere dello Sport), the 20-year-old is reconsidering his stance because he is not seeing consistent playing time. He faces considerable competition considering the presence of Memphis Depay and Ousmane Dembele and the January additions of Ferran Torres and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in his roles. He has logged 10 appearances in La Liga so far, for a total of 581 minutes.

Roma are ready to spend €10M to onboard Abde, the Catalan publication reports. He could replace a former canterano, Carles Perez, who might be on his way out given his secondary role. He just bagged his first goal of the year versus Salernitana. The Spaniard has been linked to Valencia and Bayer Leverkusen in recent weeks.

Abde would welcome the opportunity to play under José Mourinho at Roma, the outlet informs. He would be able to feature on either flank. He has previous experience as a right-back, which could help him serve as an offensive wing-back, as Nicola Zalewski has been doing lately. The Giallorossi are searching for a backup in such position since Ainsley Maitland-Niles has flopped.

The Blaugrana acquired the 20-year-old from Hercules last summer. He has scored once and provided 6 assists in 15 games with Barcelona B so far. He is Moroccan but also possesses the Spanish passport.
